How we decide if we can take your donation!

We thank everyone or their effort in making donations. Unfortunately we may be unable to accept items for many reasons, including safety and/or need.

Wherever possible we ask questions relating to the items offered before arranging a collection, this saves our donors from waiting for us to collect and stops wasted journeys’ by our collection vehicles. Listed below is the criteria used when making the decision if an item is reusable, if you are unsure about an item please contact us for a definitive answer as the list is only meant as a guide. Please do not be offended if we turn down your donation, our collection staff will make the final decision.

Safety Requirements

Must Comply with the 1988 or 1993 Safety regulations and have the appropriate label attached.
Any reupholstered furniture must have proof of fire retardant materials being used.
No Home Painted Furniture.

Condition/Quality

Must be free from major rips or tears
Not overly worn
No springs gone
No stains or odours
If dismantled must have all parts and fixing bolts
No stains or odours.

Will accept off cuts of new carpets.

TVs, DVDs and Videos must have SCART Plug and Remotes.
Stereos must have CD player and remotes.
Radios must have external arial.
Computers must have Pentium 4 minimum processor and must have an operating system installed.
Only flat computer screens accepted unless accompanied by the base unit.
Will only accept newer model printers with ink cartridges
Flat bed scanners no longer accepted.
Personal stereos and iPods ideally with the software disc.
Games consoles must have controllers.
